Equine drug dosing is not "small-animal × 30." Detomidine, butorphanol, xylazine — different ranges, different routes, different math. Generic dose calculators aren't built for it.
Coggins forms and health certificates are PDFs from 1998. You print, fill, scan, email. The owner needs it for a show on Saturday. You hope the file finds them.

Equine formulary & dosing
Dosing is set per species, never extrapolated from dogs. Horse doses cover sedation (detomidine, including the gel given under the tongue, xylazine, butorphanol and acepromazine), NSAIDs, deworming, ulcer treatment, PPID (pergolide) and estrus suppression (altrenogest), each with its source shown. NSAID withdrawal times for sport horses and breed risk profiles are being added.
Coggins & health certificates
Coggins (EIA) test tracking on every horse, and a health certificate worksheet pre-filled from the chart. You file the certificate itself in your state’s eCVI system.
Voice→SOAP between barns
Walk to the truck, speak the lameness exam, approve it, drive to the next farm. It needs a connection today; offline mode is on the roadmap.

Monday afternoon — Lameness exam at Barn 4
Off-track Thoroughbred, grade 2/5 RF lameness. You sedate and work through the exam. Voice-SOAP captures it. You recommend rads at the clinic next week.
Monday evening — Back in coverage
8 farms done. You chart the day's visits. Coggins results are tracked on each horse, and the show horses' health certificate worksheets pre-fill from the chart. Invoices go out by email for the barns to pay online.

Real questions from equine vets.
Will the offline mode work for full days?
It’s on the roadmap, not built yet. The design target: the app stores everything on the iPad — chart, formulary, schedule, SOAP voice clips, billing — and syncs when you re-enter coverage. Goal is 8-hour routes with zero connectivity and <30-second sync when you finally hit cell. Until then, RosaVet needs a connection.
Are USDA-approved Coggins forms supported?
Coggins (EIA) results are tracked on each horse, and RosaVet pre-fills a worksheet from the record. You complete and sign the official form in your state's system.
Does the equine formulary include compounded drugs?
It carries the FDA-approved versions: altrenogest (Regu-Mate) and pergolide (Prascend) with their label doses, and oral trazodone with the doses published horse studies used. Trazodone isn't approved for horses. Compounded versions aren't listed separately: to have a product compounded, send the prescription to an outside compounding pharmacy. RosaVet asks why the horse needs a compounded product and prints that reason on the prescription.
Multi-language for ranch hands?
Emails and the client portal go out in each client's preferred language (en/es/pt-BR/de). Your instructions go out as you wrote them — write them in Spanish and barn staff get them in Spanish.
